Pufferbellies, Hyannis
Many CCAC members remember an old friend, Eddie Gill, from his early days as an owner of Harry's in Hyannis, where he graciously served for many years as the host of the Harry's annual Grand Prix race in early December. In addition, Eddie was a competitive runner who completed several Boston Marathons back in the days when that was a lot harder than it is today. Most recently he has been working at the Yardarm in Orleans.
About a year ago Eddie got married, had a kid and life looked pretty damn good.
Now his friends are raising money to help Eddie in a fight for his life. A special fundraiser is being planned for Sunday, June 25 from noon to 8 pm at Pufferbellies in Hyannis.
This will be an afternoon of food, music, raffles, and a silent auction. Scheduled bands include Ricky "King" Russell, George Gritzback, Stone Soup, Adrea Terrio, Sherri Lynn, Jonny C. and the Coolerators, Tony Lynn Washington, Doug James, and Nick Adams.
Unfortunately the benefit is being held the same day as the Chatham 10K; however, the purchase of a ticket for the benefit of a good friend would be very much appreciated by Eddie and his family.
Tickets are $25 and are available at Harry's in Hyannis and the Yardarm in Orleans. Hopefully as many members as possible will be supportive of this effort and help with the fundraising for Eddie.
