I am a 42yo YFD firefighter/para. Have been running regularly since 6/99. Cheryl is an RN at CCH. She has been running since 5/88. She had raised over $5,500. for the Leukemia Society's TnT, while competing in the 5/99 Rock n Roll marathon in San Diego (My motivator). In total, we have finished two marathons each and are hoping to complete many more. We have two boys -errr... men Bobby and Michael, two goldens Emma and Maggie and two talking parrots Zeke and Yoda.

    We love Harleys, Florida and the Keys, boat drinks, turquoise seas, anything Disney, the P/T Cruiser, Jimmy Buffett, www.beerdie.com, Jeeps, sunshine, whiskey (me), quilting (Cheryl) oh, and running for the buffet at the CCAC grand prix series! Oh yeah, despise working  and eagerly awaiting retirement then subsequently meeting Elvis face to face.

Born in 1967 in California, we moved to Cape Cod when I was 2.  I started running in Jr. High School for Chatham and ran cross-country throughout high school.  In college, I tried out for the cross-country team but didn't make the cut so I concentrated on academics (major: astronomy; minor: music composition) and ran sporadically for the next 6 years.  When I turned 30, I vowed to run every day for a year and by 31 December 1997, I had become a runner.  I currently live in Yarmouth Port, MA with my wife Rebecca, a practicing runner, part-time cake decorator, and inn operator, our two sons, Evyn (12) and Ryley (10) who grudgingly run sporadically, and a daughter, Breyana (4), who will ultimately be the real runner in the family.  I work as a Senior Technical Specialist for Infor Global Solutions in Hyannis and in my spare time, am webmaster for CCAC.  I am also a card-carrying member of the Dead Runner's Society.

Hi, my name is Brian Curran and I live in Plymouth, MA.

I am a forty year old married father of three beautiful healthy children. I am currently training for the 2002 Boston Marathon to raise money for Dana-Farber. My uncle passed away from cancer in 1999 and I saw what he and my aunt went through. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. This past summer my brother called me to talk about a pain he was having in his groin area. I told him he should get it checked out. He told me he was not to concerned because he does a lot of trail riding and he just needed to take time off. He decided later that evening to go to the emergency room at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. Two days later he was operated on to remove a testicle. The testicle was found to be cancerous. I realize this is an uncomfortable topic but imagine what people with cancer must go through. I starting feeling guilty that I wasn't doing enough to help my brother. I was doing everything I could but still felt a void. My brother then went in for a second operation on September 11, 2001. He has gone through a lot this year and I felt I found something to do that would be worth while.
