The CCAC Winter Grand Prix series is back! Seven races running Sundays through December and January followed by a potluck gathering that beats any race you've ever been to! The series kicks off in Chatham at 11:00 am Sunday, December 7, 2008, at Campari's Bistro in North Chatham, MA (323 Orleans Road).
Even if you can't run, bring along the whole family, help out, and enjoy the camaraderie. You must be a paid up member in good standing of CCAC to be eligible for the Grand Prix series awards but runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome. Also, you must have run FOUR of the possible seven events to win an award. The top four times you run will count as your score in the final standings. As usual, Grand Prix awards as well as CCAC awards will be given out at the annual banquet and will be presented for age group, clydesdale/filly, and walking categories. Races are $10 for members, $10 for non-members and $10 for guests. Bring all the friends you can find. But it's still members only for series awards and for that awesome newsletter.
Notice! 2008 Team Challenge! This season's Grand Prix series will introduce a team challenge for teams of 3+ in men's, women's and mixed divisions. Signup for a team on race day and as long as you get at least 3 people signed up with the same team name, we'll score you in the competition. You can only be on one team, you needn't be a club member but if you're not then you don't get any booty at the banquet, scoring will be cross-country style, and team-hopping is permitted but not recommended.
Mark your calendars, for you don't want to miss these competitive but friendly social events. Where else can you run, eat, drink and party on a winter Sunday for only $10.00? One additional thing -- please bring a dish or some goodies to take some of the burden off the host or hostess for each event except Harry's Yuletide Stride and the Cape Cod Road Runners Fun Run. Directions will be provided on the website a week before the race and at the previous weekend's race. See you there!
