[directions] [2009-10 GP standings]
Welcome to the 2009-2010 CCAC Winter Grand Prix, eight races running Sundays through December and January followed by a potluck gathering that beats any race you’ve ever been to! This season, the series kicks off in Dennis at 11:00am Sunday, December 6, 2009, at the home of Liz Broadrick.
Even if you can’t run, bring along the whole family, help out, and enjoy the camaraderie. You must be a paid up member in good standing of CCAC to be eligible for the Grand Prix series awards but runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome. Also, you must have run a minimum of FOUR of the possible eight events to win an award. The top four times you run will count as your score in the final standings. Ties will be adjudicated by official race scorers. As usual, Grand Prix awards as well as CCAC awards will be given out at the annual banquet and will be presented for 5 year age groups, clydesdale/filly, and walking categories. All races start at 11:00AM (except for the Cape Cod Road Runners Winter Fun Run with a 10:30 start!) and are $10 for members, $10 for non-members and $10 for guests. Bring all the friends you can find but it’s still members only for series awards.
2009 Team Challenge! Since the 2008 team challenge was such a success, we’ll be doing it again this year. The same rules apply: teams consist of 3+ in men’s, women’s and mixed divisions. Signup for a team on race day and as long as you get at least 3 people signed up with the same team name, we’ll score you in the competition. You can only be on one team per race, you needn’t be a club member but if you’re not then you don’t get any booty at the banquet, scoring will be cross-country style, and team-hopping is permitted … but not recommended. To see what you’re up against, browse through last year’s results.
Mark your calendars, for you don’t want to miss these competitive but friendly social events. Where else can you run, eat, drink and party on a winter Sunday for only $10.00? One additional thing — please bring a dish or some goodies to take some of the burden off the host or hostess for each event except Harry’s Yuletide Stride, Campari’s and the Weary Traveler’s Fun Run. Directions will be provided on the website a week before the race and at the previous weekend’s race. See you there!

coming to the Cape and want to run in Chatham on the 20th. Can you advise details on registration? Maybe send me an application? Or just show up day of race? Where?
thanks bob
No pre-registration is required for any of the Grand Prix races. Just show up, sign your name, grab a tag and hit the road. Saturday’s race is at Campari’s Bistro in North Chatham. Directions to all of the races are at http://www.capecodathleticclub.org/blog/ccac-winter-grand-prix-directions/. See you there!
