* Treasurer’s report – expenses discussed, reviewed and accepted by all present.

* Boston Marathon – Monday, April 16, 2012. Room at Lenox hotel secured for runners, family and friends. Showers for runners will be available after race. Room at Lenox is being held under name Weinberger.

* Bill Masterson compiled list of marathon runners who will be participating in this year’s Boston Marathon run and mentioned all of those who will be participating.

* The Town of Chatham will be celebrating it’s 300th year anniversary. More discussion on how to promote the Chatham Harbor Run. Plan is to speak with the race director, Larry Belliveau, about expanding race this year.

* Joe Weinberger is starting for 2012 his beginners running club.

* A new Youth Run will be held this Patriot’s Day at Hathaway’s Pond in Barnstable which is being hosted by the Rec. Dept.

* Mary Duchesney discussed the Relay for Life run which will be held on June 15th and 16th this year. Still available for sign up. Team raised $650 so far. Cancer survivors dinner will be held on Friday evening. Also luminaria and tee-shirts will be available. Anyone interested in joining needs to raise $100 in order to get a tee-shirt.

* Elections held this evening – Dwight Pfundstein was elected as a Board Member. Larry Cole was elected as President; Howard Tansey was elected as Vice President; Adam Ross was re-elected as Treasurer and Mary Ellen Ross was re-elected as Secretary.

* Guest speaker for this evening….Candy Angle, Pro-Triathlete who discussed triathlon training and sports nutrition

* Next CCAC monthly meeting to be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Dennis Senior Center.

* Treasurer’s report – expenses discussed, reviewed and accepted by all present.

* April 4th Monthly meeting – Elections to be held. Votes to be held for a Board of Directors position, President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary postion(s)

* John Worgan recently sustained another fall and was in the hospital with a fractured pelvis. He is now recovering at home.

* February Hyannis Races were a huge success. A big thanks goes out to Paul Collier

* CCAC will again have a room at the Copley for the 2012 Boston Marathon. All members are welcome to attend.

* New business – Pat Nally discussed CCAC donating to Cape Cod Child Development. This year, a Las Vegas night will be held to raise money – CCAC to sponsor a table. All proceeds will be put towards literary program for CCCD. All contributions are tax deductible. Motion for CCAC to donate $250 to CCCD – motion accepted and approved.

* Per Geof Newton – Tri Team will be starting a multi-sport Grand Prix this season which will include 4 races; Escape the Cape, Whaling City, Long Pond along with one other. Details on these races will be posted on website. Sarah Newcomb will also be holding a swim clinic.

* USAT National Club Challenge (NCC) ended on February 29, 2012. The NCC was held for the months of December (swim miles), January (cycling miles) and February (running miles). Thanks to all who participated.

* Next CCAC monthly meeting to be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Dennis Senior Center.

Meeting held at Bob and Martha Edwards’ home

* 13 Club members present: Bob Eckerson, Bob Edwards, Larry Cole, Joe Weinberger, Geof Newton, Cathy Lohse, Adam Ross, Mary Ellen Ross, Dwight Pfundstein, Andy Scherding, Lucy Duffy, Martha Edwards and Steve Laverty

* Discussion was about CCAC providing financial support to CCTT and also about how funds will flow through CCAC to fund CCTT. This was based on the CCTT proposed initiatives for 2012 which were presented by Andy at January’s CCAC monthly meeting. Top portion of his form relates to bookkeeping/neutral expenses which will pay for themselves. Bottom of form relates to expenses proposed for CCTT, including a capital expenditure

* Discussed CCTT income for recurring initiatives

* Discussion about CCTT proposing purchase of a rescue board for use at CCTT practice triathlons

* Discussed whether to increase cost of CCTT practice triathlons from $5 to $10 and funnel this through CCAC checking account, which, in turn, CCAC would use to pay CCTT for their expenses.

* Appointed position – Director of CCTT – Andy Scherding’s term ends April, 2012

* Larry Cole made a motion for CCAC to set aside $3400 amount, as itemized in Andy’s form for CCTT. Motion seconded and accepted by all present

* Discussion about CCAC and the possible growth of the annual Chatham Harbor Run in order to generate additional income

* Discussion about Club Membership, Insurance and whether dues should be increased. Possible amounts: $25 Individual, $30 Family, $5 for additional people

* USAT Insurance premium is based on a rate ($6) applied to the number of club members.

* Active.com – Club pays $3.00 fee when members renew through Active online, which serves to reduce the club’s income

* Discussion about not including any non-paid members at the end of January, 2012 and also whether to not include these individuals under Club insurance

* Treasurer’s report – expenses discussed, reviewed and accepted by all present.

* April 4th Membership meeting – One Board position possibly open. Voting is to be done then for all office and director positions

* 2011-2012 Grand Prix races – 7 total, one of which was more or less snowed out

* CCAC Banquet – Saturday, February 4th @ Chatham Bars Inn @ 6PM

* 2012 Hyannis Marathon is on. Paul Collyer is expected to send payment to Club for CCAC volunteering

* Valentine’s Day Twosome Run – to be held as a fun run on Sunday, February 19th @ 11am. Venue is at the Sandwich Hollow Golf Club. $10 donation to benefit June Relay for Life. Potluck to be served.

* CCAC planning on putting together a team for the Relay event.

* Tom Nally spoke about members who have either paid or not paid their Club dues and the discussion was on whether there should be a separate list for any long-time members whose dues are overdue.

* Directors Meeting was held on January 23rd….CCTT needs/initiatives were discussed. Andy Scherding presented Tri Team initiatives, i.e., 3 training camps, DreamDay Camp donation, purchase of a new rescue board, prizes for summer triathlon “grand prix” events and CCTT social event, which were voted on. Bill Masterson made a motion to accept and approve Club providing CCTT funds for their proposed initiatives. The requested amount was $3400. Motion was accepted by all and approved for this. Further noted that CCTT budget needs to be discussed on an annual basis every January.

* Chris Crema said a big thanks to CCAC for the Boston Marathon waiver he received for upcoming 2012 Boston Marathon.

* 2012 Boston Marathon – CCAC has a room reserved again this year for all Club members. Venue: Lenox Hotel in Boston for 2 nights.

* Next CCAC monthly meeting to be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Dennis Senior Center.

* 29 Club Members present

* Treasurer’s report – expenses discussed, reviewed and accepted by all present.

* April 4th Membership meeting – 2012-2013 term election will be held. To be posted on Club website

* Per Tom Nally – CCAC membership figured to be at around 310 members. This total is required so that Club liability insurance can provide coverage for members. Approx. 95 members out of this total are participants of the CCTT

* Bob Edwards is now back home from hospital and was present at January meeting. John Worgan is at home and is receiving chemotherapy treatment.

* 3 of the Grand Prix races have been completed as of this date. Grand Prix #4 to be held at Weary Travelers in Bourne, MA. Start time will be at 10:30am. January 15th will be at Land Ho Restaurant in Harwichport; January 22th will be held at 19th Hole in Hyannis; January 29th will be held at Chapin’s Restaurant in Dennis.

* New date for CCAC Banquet set for February 4, 2012 and venue will be Chatham Bars Inn, Chatham.

* February Hyannis races – not determined whether CCAC will be volunteering.

* New Business – Andy Scherding – CCTT – He did a presentation regarding CCTT activities, events, clothing (Tri kits); accounting, practice triathlons and camps for upcoming 2012 season. He also proposed new initiatives for CCTT which are to be discussed at next Board of Directors meeting and then voted on at February CCAC monthly meeting. A copy of the proposed initiatives is included with January meeting notes.

* Next Board of Directors meeting tentatively set for Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Bob Edwards’ home.

* Pete Stringer – a big thanks for CCAC’s donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

* Per Geof Newton – Our USAT membership has been renewed for annual fee of $50.00. USAT’s General Liability insurance is renewed for us effective January 1, 2012 for annual premium of $1,890.00 and is rated to cover total of 315 members.

* Karen Zunti – She held a presentation, “Taping for Common Running Injuries.” Karen is a Physical Therapist at Spaulding Rehabilitation on Cape Cod.

* Next CCAC monthly meeting to be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Dennis Senior Center.

* 15 Club Members present

* Treasurer’s report – expenses discussed, reviewed and accepted by all present.

* Updates – Bob Edwards recently injured during a fall at the recent Andrea Holden race and as a result, he has sustained 2 broken ribs and a punctured lung. He is in the hospital and is due to go into a rehabilitation facility soon. John Worgan is now home and is resting. John Demarest will be getting a knee replacement.

* 1st Grand Prix race held at the Chatham Boatyard is now on the books. GP #2 to be held at Camparis Restaurant. Per Geof, GP scoring is now up on website – refer to new blog posts. Spreadsheet available on SkyDrive – file currently being edited. On-going Club website changes – website now enabled for mobile, i.e., race calendar, etc.

* GP Race #3 – Yarmouth Police Dept. – Race open to members and non-members. Two separate timings – Walkers @ 10:30am / Runners @ 11:00am. After-race venue to be determined.

* BAA waivers are now in. Deadline to submit them in is 1/13/2012. This may possibly be the last year CCAC will receive waivers. Speak with Bob Eckerson or Joe Weinberger for further info.

* Karen Zunti will be doing a presentation at January monthly meeting on taping injuries.

* Big Brothers & Big Sisters – Pete Stringer is looking for donations for his upcoming 50 mile run. Motion to donate $200 was accepted.

* Cape Cod Times Needy Fund – motion to donate $250 was accepted.

* Old business – CCAC 2012 Banquet to be held on 2/11/2012. Possible venue discussed: The Cove, W.Yarmouth. Food and costs are reasonable. Buffet-style dinner. Rooms are $75 per night. Holds approximately 200 people.

* New business – Tom Nally to give tentative idea within month of December regarding the actual size of CCAC membership. Total is needed for insurance renewal, which is 12/31/2011.

* Relay For Life of Mid Cape – 6/15/2012 – 6/16/2012 – Discussion by Mary Duchesney who is organizing team event. CCAC invited to participate. $10pp – need to raise $100 minimum. Starts 3pm on the 15th and ends the following day, late morning/early afternoon. To be held at Dennis-Yarmouth High School. Team name would be CCAC. Geof Newton to post more info on CCAC website.

* USAT Club General Liability insurance renewal– due on 12/31/2011 – estimated $1500 annual premium. Need final club membership numbers for final figure.

* Motion to renew USAT club membership for 2012 term was accepted. USATF renewal has been renewed, per Adam Ross @ $75.00.

* Geof Newton reports…..Holy Trinity race – 1st year – 5k race – event went well – thanks for all donations which were contributed towards race. Next year’s race will be held on 10/27/2012. Upcoming – 12/31/2011 – Kate Naples race – more info on website. Nauset H.S. Track & Field Club – starting winter track – speak with Matt Clark for more info.

* Treasurer’s report – reviewed and accepted by all present.

* Question raised about past CCAC meeting minutes as to whether copies are available. Motion made by Bill Masterson to accept Club Secretary’s minutes – accepted by all present.

* Committee Reports by Bob Eckerson & Tom Nally – blue cards are being mailed out to Club members as a reminder of membership dues which have not been paid. As a result of insurance requirements, dues must be paid by the 1st Grand Prix race if Club member wants to participate in GP race.

* 2011-2012 Grand Prix series: 12/4 Chatham Boat, 12/11 Campari’s, 12/18 YPD, 1/8 Weary Travelers, 1/15 Land Ho Restaurant, 1/22 19th Hole, 1/29 Chapins

* Club Banquet – Date is set for February 11, 2012. Venue to be determined by Banquet Committee

* Old Business – Discussion about Club Honorary Members, what is the Club’s policy? If already HM status, keep for how long a period of time? Discussed various entities/groups which are already in HM status (people and media). Question raised – If a Club member wants to recommend someone as an HM – agreed that this policy will be discussed amongst Board Members.

* Mention about a search committee for 2012 Board Members – Club looking for suggestions

* Discussion about CCAC and Facebook – and about the ease of access to post Club items on FB, and whether FB is another way to communicate with Club members.

* CCTT – Discussion about if a speaker will be at December meeting or possibly a movie will be shown.

* Cape Cod Half Marathon & Marathon Club participants’ efforts mentioned by Bill Masterson. Bob Eckerson completed his 100th marathon on 10/30/11 as well as completing the Half Marathon the day before!

* 1st Holy Trinity 5k – October 29th, directed by Geof Newton. 88 runners total. November 5th – 5k at Barnstable High School – proceeds go to Kevin & Miranda Houston.

* Andrea Holden Foundation Thanksgiving race – commented on by Joe Weinberger – all is going according to plan.

* Chatham Harbor 10k run – Bob Eckerson spoke with Larry Belliveau about making this a larger race – possible to put this race out to Club members and/or CCAC taking control of this race? Bob to pursue with Larry Belliveau.

* Next CCAC monthly meeting will be held on December 7, 2011 @ Dennis Senior Center
